How the Heart Score works
The Heart Score sums up one measurement by how far four figures sit from their normal ranges.
What goes into it
- Resting pulse — 30%, graded against your own age and gender band rather than one fixed range.
- RMSSD — 25%.
- SDNN — 20%.
- Stress index — 25%.
Reading the score
- 85 and above — excellent.
- 70 to 84 — good.
- 50 to 69 — fair.
- Below 50 — several inputs are outside their ranges at once.
Good to know
Variability above the typical range isn't penalized, because high variability at rest reads as good recovery. And a noisy or very short recording produces no score at all, rather than one built on half the inputs.
FAQ
- Why didn't I get a Heart Score?
- The score needs usable beat intervals. Re-measure seated and still, with your finger resting lightly on the camera.
