When should a heart rate reading send you to a doctor?
Heart Rate & Health measures and records; it doesn't diagnose. Some situations call for a professional, whatever the app shows.
Call emergency services if you have
- Chest pain or pressure.
- Severe shortness of breath.
- Fainting or near-fainting.
- A very fast or irregular heartbeat with any of the above.
Talk to your doctor if
- Your resting rate is regularly above 100 bpm, or below 60 bpm when you're not an athlete and you feel dizzy or tired.
- You often feel palpitations or a fluttering heartbeat.
- A trend in your readings worries you.
Bring your data
PRO can export a PDF health report of your readings to take to an appointment. Your doctor can decide what, if anything, it means.
FAQ
- Can the app detect atrial fibrillation?
- No. It doesn't assess heart rhythm for any condition. If you're worried about an irregular heartbeat, see a doctor.
Your pulse in 45 seconds
Heart Rate & Health - Novaz reads your heart rate from your iPhone camera, with HRV, stress, energy and a Heart Score. No account — your data stays on your phone. A wellness app, not a medical device.
