Logging blood sugar: fasting and after meals
Log readings from your glucose meter and tag when you took them — fasting, or one or two hours after eating — so each lands in the right range.
American Diabetes Association ranges (mg/dL)
- Fasting: below 100 is normal, 100–125 is the prediabetes range, 126 or higher is the diabetes range.
- Two hours after glucose: below 140 is normal, 140–199 is the prediabetes range, 200 or higher is the diabetes range.
- Below 70 is low blood sugar.
Keep in mind
Diabetes and prediabetes are diagnosed with lab tests ordered by a doctor, not with home readings. Use the log to spot patterns and share them. Heart Rate & Health is a wellness app, not a medical device. It doesn't diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. If a reading worries you or you feel unwell, speak to a doctor.
